Kdgn(Private) for 7 years and at the same time started the First tuition in RC's,in Bukit Timah Zone 5 RC in Clementi Ave 4.Majority of the children speak only dialects or have not learned to talk.We read stories,sing, recite rhymes, making as much English conversation as possible and some writing for one and a half hours. That was to familiarise these children to the English Language, 34 years ago, when English was not the prevalent language. Then Most of the parents speak dialect and listened /learning outside the class for free. They can recite days and months of the year everything I taught their children because I projected my voice beyond the class. Each child pays $12 and later on, $10 per month. It was a fun experience. Some students were sitting in for free, because they lost a parent or parent out of job.
